Patrick lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He takes pride in high-quality code, solving complex problems with simple solutions, and helping others. He is a frequent public speaker and writer on web development, and is also a co-organizer of Refresh Pittsburgh.

He’s been writing code - in one form or another - since 1997. Mostly HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, but also Ruby on Rails, PHP, and a sprinkling of C# along the way.

He’s been working on pattern libraries and design systems since 2013, and most recently served as a technical lead and an engineer on the design system team at one of the world’s largest clothing retailers.

He’s also been fortunate to have collaborated with teams from Aperian Global, The Leukemia Lymphoma Society, Wombat Security Technologies, Blacks In Technology, The American Economic Association, and The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, amongst others.

Currently, he is a Senior Full Stack Design Engineer at Adobe, working on the Spectrum design system team.
